Egg Roll in a Bowl

This Egg Roll in a Bowl is an easy, one-pan recipe courtesy of Flavour Mosaic – our new obsession! This power bowl takes no time to make and it’s so delicious. Loaded with powerful flavours the egg roll in a bowl is the perfect meal to whip up and get on the table in 20-minutes. It is a great meal to get in your veggies and is packed with protein. It is perfect on its own but even better served over zoodles, rice, or rice noodles.

1 lb of ground turkey (substitute with your protein of choice: lean ground beef, chicken, or tofu)
1 diced onion
2 cloves minced garlic
2 cups diced purple and green cabbage
1-2 shredded carrots
3 tbsp tamari
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
Toppings: green onions, sesame seeds, sriracha


  1. Sautée the diced onion over medium heat in a bit of oil (I use grapeseed) until soft. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1-minute until fragrant. 
  2. Add in the ground turkey and increase the heat slightly. Cook the turkey for about 5-minutes until brown and juices run clear.
  3. Add cabbage, carrots and cook for a few minutes. Add the tamari and vinegar and cook for a few more minutes until all the flavours are combined.
  4. Serve over zoodles, rice, or rice noodles and top with green onions, black sesame seeds, and sriracha.
