Kicking off the Crate & Barrel Cooking Series with Gary with the one recipe he wanted to master. Perfect summer spread for the whole fam!

Gary's Taco Recipe



  • 2 pounds grass fed ground beef 
  • 1 tbsp chili powder (can add more for more spice) 
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder 
  • 1/4 tsp cumin 
  • 1/4 tsp paprika 
  • Salt to taste 
  • Hard/soft shell tacos!




  1. Heat hard shells/soft shells for 2 mins a side in a dry pan on high heat
  2. Corn: steamed then grilled with butter/cut off Cobb
  3. Guac: mash avo with salt/ lemon
  4. Coleslaw: pre mix slaw add a few tbsp red wine vinegar and mayo, chop tomatoes and add chopped jalapeños, w salt and lime
  5. Over medium high heat, heat up a bit of oil and sautée ground beef until mostly cooked through. 
  6. Add spices and cook until ground beef is cooked through and pieces are a bit crispy.
  7. Prep all toppings and serve!
