Given the crazy times right now, it's important that expectant mamas have a good understanding of what's going on and how this situation affects us and our families. There are already so many things to consider when you're pregnant, aside from the limitations of living through a pandemic. Over these last few months, we've noticed some amazing resources locally and internationally that we wanted to share with all the mamas out there to help ease your mind and make this time a little bit less complicated.
One of the best local Toronto resources is the
Pandemic Pregnancy Guide. Their Instagram
account will keep you updated on the virus and provides helpful tips for what to expect when expecting... during a pandemic.
It's totally natural to worry about the effects of the virus on your pregnancy and unborn baby, which is why Canada Public Health Services
released a list of tips for those to follow during this trying time. One key thing they recommend is to revise and discuss your birth plan as soon as possible with your doctor to ensure you're taking the appropriate Covid-19 measures.
Early on, Dr. Sanjay Gupta released a CNN podcast
on being pregnant during a pandemic. He shares the stories of three women who are due to give birth and answers key questions about pregnancy in the midst of Covid-19. A must-listen if you're expecting right now.
Our friends at Hatch provided a helpful Q+A on their blog
listing everything you need to know about Covid-19 from a few key experts. Even though some of the resources are US based, it's still chock full of helpful information.
No matter what, we hope you're staying safe and healthy during this time and hopefully these resources can help ease the situation. Let us know in the comments if you've come across anything that's helped you manage your pregnancy during a pandemic.
